St. Louis born, Florida based, Ken Apperson is a musician on a journey. From his beginnings as a teenaged songwriter and frontman seeing first successes on pop and rock radio in his home town, to his first tours and venue residences in Missouri and the surrounding region, to emerging as a constantly in demand solo artist and performer upon his arrival in the Southeast, Ken has walked through genres, guitar in hand.
In 2011, Ken Apperson released his first solo EP, entitled “Puzzle Pieces” and with a song writer based sound and groove oriented backing group, began a performance run that included prominent venues in the Bay Area such as the Ritz, Jannus Live, Curtis Hixon Park‘s music series, Williams Park Festival, the Orpheum, Crowbar Live, singer songwriter haven the Hideaway Cafe and many more.
Soon opening slots for touring acts followed, and Ken performed as support for Sister Hazel, Rob Thomas, and others, before making his way to Nashville for songwriting collaboration and performances at Tootsie’s, Wanted Saloon and the Losers Bar.
Wearing his influences on his guitar, sounds ring out of Eric Clapton, John Mayer, James Taylor, Tom Petty, and more. Now with a fresh set of songs, and a more refined sound, Ken Apperson is in the middle of new travels, ones that will bring him to venues across the 50 United States and beyond.
“Ken Apperson and his band have managed to bring the house to its feet every time I have seen them perform live. I had the pleasure to work with them on a handful of events, and each and every time, they were not only amazing musicians but wonderful individuals to deal with and work alongside. Hands down, one of the coolest, funkiest, toe-tapping, hand-clapping bands in the area!”
